ARCH1101 - Image Task

Creative Work

I don't actually have any have physical major creative pieces, however over the years I have poorly directed numerous short films. One of which is seen above. This film was done as a creative assignment for English Tuition in Year 10. The task was focused around a fairy tale, in this case Rapunzel, however we decided to add our own creative touch, adding numerous pop culture references including How I Met Your Mother, Starcraft, Pokemon and Braveheart.

In the above screenshots, the final battle between the Prince/Rapunzel and the Witch is seen. Although I was unable to fully bring the dream to life due to inexperience in programming, I was at least able to import the image of the witch into the game itself and capture the footage.

Great Architecture

Michigan was a town in which many of its residents were forced to leave town after thousands of houses were demolished. Representing these lost homes, Two Island's Mark's House temporarily sits in an empty parking lot, disappearing into the surrounding environment, blending into the dynamic skyline, lost from view.
Seemingly floating in mid air, it is a remarkable piece of modern architecture. The mylar covered surface reflects light perfectly, creating the illusion of space beneath the structure when in fact a central pedestal supports the 1814kg structure. Furthermore, the individually lit ceiling is plastered with the faces of those who donated to the kickstarter project.

Something Beautiful

This photo is actually only from a few weeks ago. Rainbows are a fairly common phenomena, seeing a full rainbow is rare (by my standards), but seeing two full rainbows was unheard of for me, excluding that viral video, The Double Rainbow Song. Aside for a perfect angle when viewing the setting sun (think the opening of the Lion King), this is probably the closest thing to something beautiful that I could imagine (excluding the obvious choices of flowers, people etc.)
